ABSTRACT A gear is proposed for forming a cyclical motion from a rotary motion. Such a gear comprises a cam plate (5), said cam plate being rigidly attached to a frame wall (1). A roller (6), mounted on a roller lever, rolls on said cam plate. The roller lever is swivel- mounted on the rotating part (2) and produces a cyclical motion within the rotating part. The roller (6) is safeguarded by a spring (22) against lifting off from the cam plate (5). To compensate for torque fluctuations which are produced owing to the spring contact of the roller (6) on the cam plate (5), a further cam plate (8) connected to the rotating part (2) is provided, with a spring-loaded roller (9) likewise rolling on said cam plate (8). The spring- loaded roller is held on a swivel lever (10). The swivel lever is mounted on the frame wall (1). The shape of the further cam (8) and the spring force acting on the roller (9) are such that torques are produced which counteract the torques which are applied via the roller (6) to the rotating part (2). This apparatus thus compensates for torque fluctuations, as caused for example by cam gears, and thus prevents torsional vibrations. (Fig.2)
