A high performance gear type oil pump for an internal combustion engine which has drive and driven gears which are, on one common side of the gears, respectively supported from the housing by a drive shaft and an idler shaft. In order to avoid cantilevering of the gears when generating pressurized oil, the other common side of the gears are each rotatable mounted on stub axles or pins which themselves are fixedly attached to the housing. In order to minimize wear, oil under pressure is supplied to the bearing surfaces of stub axles or pins which extend interiorly of the gears and also to the bearing surfaces of the housing which faces the common side of the gears where the stub axles are located, through oil supply passageways in the stub axles or pins.

Une pompe à huile à engrenages à rendement élevé pour un moteur à combustion interne qui comprend des engrenages d'entraînement et des roues menées qui sont, sur un côté commun des engrenages, respectivement soutenus du logement par un arbre d'entraînement et un axe de l'arbre intermédiaire. Afin d'éviter le porte-à-faux des engrenages lors de la génération d'huile sous pression, l'autre côté commun des engrenages sont, chacun, montés de manière rotative sur des demi-essieux ou des tiges qui eux-mêmes sont fixés solidement. Afin de minimiser l'usure, l'huile sous pression est fournie aux surface portantes des demi-essieux ou des tiges qui se prolongent à l'intérieur des engrenages et aussi aux surface portantes du logement qui fait face au côté commun des engrenages où les demi-essieux sont localisés, en traversant des passages d'alimentation d'huile dans les demi-essieux ou les tiges.
