Gelled ester compositions are provided. The gelled esters are obtained by mixing a suitable ester with one or more triblock copolymers, star polymers, radial polymers, multi-block copolymers, or mixtures thereof. Optionally, one or more diblock copolymers can be used in forming the gel compositions. In addition to gelled esters, gelled alcohols, gelled ethers, and gelled naturally-occurring fats and oils also are obtained by using one or more diblock copolymers, triblock copolymers, star polymers, radial polymers, multi-block copolymers, or mixtures thereof as a gelling agent. Butyl rubbers and alkyl galactomannan also can be used as a gelling agent. The gel compositions may be used to suspend various solids and/or liquids.

L'invention porte sur des compositions d'esters gélifiés. On obtient ces esters gélifiés en mélangeant un ester approprié avec un ou plusieurs copolymères triblocs, des polymères en étoile, des polymères radiaux, des copolymères multiblocs ou des mélanges de ceux-ci. Il est possible d'utiliser, éventuellement, un ou plusieurs copolymères diblocs dans la fabrication des compositions de gel. Outre les esters gélifiés, on obtient également des alcools gélifiés, des éthers gélifiés et des matières grasses et des huiles d'origine naturelle gélifiées en utilisant un ou plusieurs copolymères diblocs, copolymères triblocs, polymères en étoile, polymères radiaux, copolymères multiblocs ou des mélanges de ceux-ci comme agents gélifiants. Il est également possible d'utiliser comme agents gélifiants des caoutchoucs butyle et un alkyl galactomannan. Les compositions de gel peuvent être utilisées dans la suspension de divers solides et/ou liquides.
