Abstract of the Disclosure Gelled acid compositions are disclosed which comprises: an aqueous acid, acrylamide polymers crosslinked with an alde- hyde(s), and an iron control agent. The gelled acids are useful in acidizing subterranean formations. As an example, 28 percent hydrochloric acid was gelled with a 70:30 AMPS/acrylamide copoly- mer crosslinked with formaldehyde in the presence of erythorbic acid.
