0238p 3530b Lukach & Sun Case 1 GELLED AQUEOUS COMPOSITIONS Abstract of Disclosure Disclosed are gelled compositions in fresh water or brine solution, containing a polymer selected from the group consisting of water-soluble anionic or nonionic polymers capable of gelling in the presence of a gelling agent characterized in that the gelling agent is a water-soluble cationic poly(N-alkyldiallylamine)-epihalohydrin resin in an amount sufficient to cause a gel to form. The compositions are useful in the recovery of oil and gas by fracturing and as a matrix plugging agent in enhanced oil recovery.
