DNA sequences capable of encoding an enzyme protein functioning as a rice dihydrodipicolinate synthase (DHDPS). An example of the above DNA sequences is one having the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 in the Sequence Listing. Moreover, a DNA having the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:5 in the Sequence Listing and one having the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:7 each capable of encoding the protein with a DHDPS activity are obtained. By culturing vegetable cells having, transferred thereinto, a vector which carries a DNA fragment having such a DNA integrated into the downstream of a promoter, a transformed plant with a high lysine content can be regenerated.
L'invention porte sur des séquences d'ADN codant pour une enzyme aux fonctions de dihydrodipicolinate synthase du riz (DHDPS) dont un exemple présente la séquence de base SEQ ID NO:1 de la liste des séquences, et de plus sur un ADN présentant la séquence de base SEQ ID NO:5 de la liste des séquences, et sur un ADN présentant la séquence de base SEQ ID NO:7 de la liste des séquences, tous capables de coder pour la protéine à activité DHDPS. La culture de cellules végétales dans lesquelles on a transféré un vecteur portant un fragment d'un tel ADN intégré à la partie aval d'un promoteur, permet de générer une plante transformée à fort teneur en lysine.
