An apparatus (10) for washing automotive, aviation, marine and general parts with a volatile solvent during maintenance, repair and rebuilding operations. The apparatus (10) includes a wash basin (14) with a drain (28) to facilitate return of the solvent to a holding tank (40) having a pump (44) therein for recirculating the solvent back to the wash basin (14) through a discharge spout (50) for washing parts. A first valve assembly (34) between the drain (28) and holding tank (40) closes during periods of non-use to prevent vapors from escaping to the atmosphere. During a timed recycling process, a second valve assembly (66) releases used, contaminated solvent from the holding tank (4) into a distillation pot (60) where the solvent is heated under vacuum to produce vapors. The vapors pass through a condenser (166) where they are cooled to a liquid state, yielding pure solvent, which is directed into the holding tank (40) for future parts washing as demanded.
L'invention se rapporte à un appareil (10) conçu pour laver les pièces principales d'une automobile, d'un avion et d'un bateau à l'aide d'un solvant volatile lors des opérations de maintenance, réparations et réfections. L'appareil (10) comprend un bassin de lavage (14) pourvu d'une purge (28) pour faciliter le renvoi du solvant vers un réservoir (40) possédant une pompe (44) pour faire recirculer et renvoyer le solvant vers le bassin de lavage (14) par l'intermédiaire d'une goulotte d'évacuation (50) afin de laver des pièces. Un premier ensemble de vannes (34) se trouvant entre la purge (28) et le réservoir (40) se ferme durant les périodes de non-utilisation afin d'empêcher l'échappement des vapeurs dans l'atmosphère.
