26130-92 ABSTRACT In order to generate pressure pulses in a liquid in a simple and cost-effective manner, the liquid is rapidly vaporized, at least in part, in a recess that is open at one end and is incorporated in a rotary piston. To this end, the apparatus that is used to carry out the procedure incorporates two electrodes between which the recess with the liquid is situated. Providing the current is sufficiently strong, part of the liquid will be vaporized and thus generates an over-pressure which then forces the remaining liquid through a pressure line to the outside. It is preferred that the new apparatus be used as a high pressure cleaner.
