L'invention concerne la préparation de BF3 et de H2SO4 de qualités commerciales à partir d'effluents d'hydrate de trifluorure de bore contenant des impuretés organiques. Le procédé consiste essentiellement à faire réagir l'oléum avec ledit effluent, à récupérer le trifluorure de bore gazeux ainsi libéré, et à soumettre l'acide sulfurique co-produit à un traitement par le peroxyde d'hydrogène et à un balayage à l'air. Ce procédé est particulièrement intéressant puisqu'il ne génère pas de déchets et ne nécessite pas l'emploi de charbon actif.
