A method of generating a clock from a signed correction value derived from cellscarrying timing information in an asynchronous network involves deriving a decrement/increment indicator from the sign of the received correction value. A local clock is incremented and decremented in a predetermined period accordance with said decrement/increment indicator and the true magnitude of the received correction value.

Méthode permettant de générer des signaux d'horloge à partir d'une valeur corrigée signée provenant de cellules contenant des informations de synchronisation dans un réseau asynchrone. La méthode comporte le calcul d'un indicateur de décrémentation/incrémentation à partir du signe de la valeur corrigée reçue. Une horloge locale est décrémentée ou incrémentée d'une période de temps prédéterminée en fonction de l'indicateur de décrémentation/incrémentation et de la valeur de correction reçue.
