In one embodiment, a scheme is provided for selecting a generic access network (GAN) controller by a user equipment (UE) device disposed in a network environment including a GAN. Responsive to a query request by the UE device, one or more IP addresses of GANC nodes are obtained, each node for accessing a particular Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN). The UE device then authenticates with at least one GANC node for obtaining access service to a PLMN coupled thereto.

Dans un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un schéma de sélection de contrôleur de réseau d'accès générique (GAN) par un dispositif d'équipement utilisateur (UE) disposé dans un environnement réseau comprenant un GAN. En réponse à une demande de consultation par le dispositif UE, au moins une adresse IP de noeuds de contrôleur de GAN (GANC) est obtenue, chaque noeud permettant d'accéder à un réseau mobile terrestre public (RMTP) particulier. Le dispositif UE authentifie ensuite au moins un noeud de GANC afin d'obtenir un service d'accès à un RMTP couplé à ce noeud.
