The present invention relates to a method of identifying a predisposition for developing posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in a subject com-prising assessing in a sample obtained from said sub-ject the expression level of one or more genes selected from the FK506 binding protein 5 (FKBP5) gene, the signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT5B) gene and the nuclear factor I/A (NFIA) gene, wherein a decrease in the expression level of said one or more genes as compared to the expression level of the corresponding gene(s) of a control is in-dicative of a predisposition for developing PTSD. Fur-ther, the invention relates to a method of identifying a compound capable of preventing or treating PTSD or capable of serving as a lead compound for developing a compound capable of preventing or treating PTSD and also to a method of selecting a therapy to prevent or treat PTSD.

La présente invention concerne un procédé didentification dune prédisposition au développement dun trouble de stress post-traumatique (PTSD) chez un sujet comprenant lévaluation dans un échantillon obtenu à partir dudit sujet du taux dexpression dun ou plusieurs gènes choisis parmi le gène de la protéine de liaison FK506 5 (FKBP5), le gène du transducteur de signal et activateur de transcription (STAT5B) et le gène du facteur nucléaire I/A (NFIA), où une diminution du taux dexpression desdits un ou plusieurs gènes par rapport au taux dexpression du/des gène(s) correspondant(s) dun témoin est indicative dune prédisposition au développement dun PTSD. De plus, linvention concerne un procédé didentification dun composé capable de prévenir ou traiter un PTSD ou capable de servir de composé de départ pour développer un composé capable de prévenir ou traiter un PTSD, ainsi quun procédé de sélection dune thérapie pour prévenir ou traiter un PTSD.
