The present invention involves the identification and characterization of genes involved in the response of maize plants to water stress. A mutant allele of the wilt gene was identified by transposon tagging and demonstrated to correlate with a mutants phenotype of wilting under normal water conditions.

La présente invention concerne l'identification et la caractérisation de gènes jouant un rôle dans la réponse des maïs au stress hydrique. Un gène allèle mutant du gène de flétrissement a été identifié par marquage de transposons.
