A recombinant vector comprises a recombinant DNA molecule comprising a DNA sequence that encodes a light emitting reporter protein. The DNA sequence is operatively linked to a regulatory element arranged to activate expression of the DNA sequence in response to DNA damage. When used to transform a cell, the vector does not substantially alter the sensitivity of the cell to geneticin, when compared to the sensitivity of the cell which has not been transformed with the vector.

Cette invention se rapporte à un vecteur recombiné qui comprend une molécule d'ADN recombiné contenant une séquence d'ADN qui code une protéine rapporteur photoémettrice. La séquence d'ADN est liée fonctionnellement à un élément régulateur destiné à activer l'expression de la séquence d'ADN en réponse à un dommage à l'ADN. Lorsqu'il est utilisé pour transformer une cellule, ce vecteur ne modifie pratiquement pas la sensibilité de la cellule à la généticine, si on la compare à la sensibilité de cette même cellule qui n'a pas été transformée par ledit vecteur.
