There is disclosed a method of identifying subjects having a high or low drug metabolising phenotype associated with cytochrome CYP3A5 expression, which method comprises screening genomic DNA from said subject for the presence or absence of one or more polymorphic variants in a transcription regulatory region of the sequence encoding CYP3A5. Oligonucleotide molecules for carrying out the screening are also provided.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé d'identification de sujets présentant un phénotype de métabolisation élevée ou faible du médicament associé à l'expression du cytochrome CYP3A5. Le procédé consiste à cribler l'ADN génomique prélevé chez le sujet afin de déterminer la présence ou l'absence d'un ou plusieurs variants polymorphes dans une région régulatrice de la transcription de la séquence codant CYP3A5. L'invention se rapporte également à des molécules oligonucléotidiques servant à effectuer le criblage.
