The present invention includes methods for investigating a site for possible selective removal of sediment containing a contaminant. The methods include calculating an adjusted contaminant concentration for sediment zones on the site. The site preferably contains a water course. The methods may also include determining whether sediment zone need remediation by comparing the adjusted contaminant concentration to a standard. The invention also includes a system for carrying out the described methods, at least partially implemented in a computer.
La présente invention concerne des procédés permettant d'étudier un site afin de vérifier s'il est nécessaire d'en évacuer de manière sélective des sédiments contenant un contaminant. Les procédés consistent à calculer une concentration de contaminant rajustée pour des zones de sédimentation du site. De préférence, le site contient un cours d'eau. Selon les procédés de l'invention, on peut également déterminer si une zone de sédimentation doit être soumise à une biorestauration en comparant la concentration en contaminant rajustée à une norme. L'invention porte également sur un système qui permet la mise en oeuvre des procédés précités, de manière au moins partiellement informatisée.
