ROGERS, BERESKIN & PARR CANADA INVENTION: IMPROVED GEOPHYSICAL TRANSMITTING LOOP INVENTOR: MICHAEL PAUL ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to an airborne geophysical transmitting loop comprising a plurality of turns of wire adapted to be connected to a transmitter to produce electro- magnetic fields for use in geophysical prospecting. More specifically, the invention provides a transmitting loop with improved power efficiency. According to the invention, the turns of the loop are spaced apart sufficiently that the ratio of alternating current to direct current losses in the loop is less than about 1.5 for all the electromagnetic frequencies up to about 1 kilohertz.
