A gesture recognition method wherein captured images are processed to identify at least two clusters of touch points associated with at least two pointers withm an input region/surface and based on motion of the clusters of touch points recognizing a gesture and subsequently updating a display with the recognized gesture An interactive input system comprising an input surface, at least one imaging sensor and a processing structure communicating with said sensor to analyse image data to determine the location of a cluster of touch points associated with at least two pointers in contact with the input surface, to recognize successive clusters representing a gesture based on the relative positions of the touch points and to execute a command associated with said gesture.

La présente invention porte sur un procédé de reconnaissance gestuelle comprenant : la capture d'images, le traitement des images pour identifier au moins deux groupes de points de contact associés à au moins deux pointeurs, la reconnaissance d'un geste sur la base du mouvement des groupes, et l'actualisation d'un affichage conformément au geste reconnu.
