A glass block structure (10) supported by a flexible phenolic resin framework is disclosed. The phenolic resin framework is bonded to the individual glass blocks (12) with an adhesive substance that is placed so as to lie at or near the corners of the blocks (12). The phenolic resin that makes up the supporting framework may advantageously be formed in a pultrusion process wherein the resin is embedded with glass-like strands. Further heat-tolerance and adhesion may be obtained from the use of a high-heat tolerant putty applied between the phenolic resin and the glass blocks (12). The flexibility of the phenolic resin allows the block structure (10) to be preassembled and then transported to an installation site as a single, ready-to-install unit.
L'invention porte sur une adhérant aux briques à l'aide d'une colle disposée aux coins des briques ou à proximité. La résine phénolique constituant le cadre support sera de préférence formée par pultrusion avec des fibres vitreuses. La tolérance à la chaleur et l'adhérence peuvent être renforcées par l'utilisation d'un mastic à forte résistance à la chaleur appliqué entre la résine et les briques de verre. La souplesse des résines phénoliques permet le préassemblage de la structure de briques et son transport sur le site d'installation sous forme d'une seule unité prête à poser.
