A glass fiber cord for reinforcing a rubber is disclosed, which is inexpensive and suffers no decrease in strength even when flexing stresses are repeatedly imposed thereon under high load at high temperatures, and which has sufficient heat and water resistance. High-strength glass filaments having a diameter of 8-10 µm are bound to obtain a strand, on which a coating layer comprising a resorcinol/formaldehyde condensate and a rubber latex is formed. Two or more such coated strands are twisted and then optionally coated with a second coating layer to obtain a cord for rubbers which has a diameter of 0.8-1.1 mm.
