To provide a glass fiber for reinforcing rubber product which is excellent in the impregnation of an RFL treating agent to a glass fiber strand, has less blister of the coating layer made of the RFL treating agent, has excellent appearance and physical performance, and has little fluctuation of quality; and a method for producing such a glass fiber. An RFL treating agent comprising, as a main components, a rubber latex and a water-soluble condensate of resorcinol with formaldehyde, is impregnated to a glass fiber strand having from 200 to 2,000 glass filaments bundled, so that it is impregnated to each glass fiber strand independently without drawing such glass fiber strands together, and then, the RFL treating agent impregnated to the glass fiber strand, is solidified to form a coating layer, to obtain a coated glass fiber. Then, the coated glass fiber is subjected to twisting to obtain a twisted yarn, and at least two such twisted yarns are put together and subjected to plying, to obtain a glass fiber for reinforcing rubber products.

La présente invention concerne une fibre verre de renforcement pour des articles en caoutchouc qui est excellente dans l'imprégnation de fils de fibre de verre avec un traitement RFL. Cette fibre de verre est réduite dans le gonflement des couches avec le traitement RFL, a une apparence et une performance physique excellentes, et entraîne une faible dispersion de qualité. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication de la fibre de verre. La fibre de verre de renforcement peut être fabriquée en imprégnant, à l'aide d'un traitement RFL contenant un latex de caoutchouc et un condensat résorcinol/formaldéhyde soluble dans l'eau en guise de composants principaux, un fil de fibre de verre composé de 200 à 2000 filaments de verre qui ne sont pas dans un état intégré mais dans un état séparé, en fixant le traitement RFL imprégné dans le fil afin de former une couche, torsadant la fibre de verre recouverte ainsi obtenue pour former un premier fil torsadé, et torsadant par la suite au moins deux fils torsadés ainsi obtenus dans le sens opposé à celui de la première torsade.
