A particulate absorbent, for the absorption of liquids, comprising particles selected from the group consisting of particles of glass-like polysaccharides and of particles of glass-like polysaccharides occluding, in their internal structure, at least one surfactant, said particles: - having a size of up to 620 µm; - being at least 70 % of a glass-like type structure; and - being: - 30 to 45 % of a size comprised between 620 and 420 µm; - 35 to 55 % of a size comprised between 420 and 210 µm; and - 5 to 25 % of a size up to 210 µm. These particulate absorbent is non-hygroscopic, hypoallergenic and biodegradable and useful particularly in biodegradable diapers.

L'invention concerne un absorbant de particules pour l'absorption de liquides, comportant des particules choisis parmi le groupe comprenant des particules de polysaccharides cristallisés et des particules de polysaccharides cristallisés oblitérant, dans leur structure interne, au moins un surfactant, lesdits particules : - ayant une taille maximale de 620 µm; - ayant une structure de type cristallisé d'au moins 70 %; et - dont : - 30 à 45 % de la taille est située entre 620 et 420 µm; - 35 à 55 % de la taille est située entre 420 et 210 µm; et - 5 à 25 % de la taille est d'au plus 210 µm. Cet absorbant de particules est non hydroscopique, hypoallergénique et particulièrement utile dans les couches biodégradables.
