A glass light guide having a core containing at least any one oxide among glass constituting oxides consisting of the group of Bi2O3, Sb2O3, PbO, SnO2 and TeO2, in which any large propagation loss of light occurring when the core has a rectangular cross section is reduced. There is provided a glass light guide containing at least one member of the above glass constituting oxides in a total amount of >= 35% in terms of weight percentage and having a core with a trapezoidal cross section, characterized in that among parallel two sides of the trapezoid, the long side lies on the substrate side, and that among the four sides of the trapezoid, the long side and each of the two oblique lines form an angle of 60 to 80~.

Guide de lumière de verre possédant un noyau contenant au moins un oxyde parmi les oxydes constitutifs de verre constituant le groupe composé de Bi2O3, Sb2O3, PbO, SnO2 et TeO2, dans lequel on réduit toute perte de lumière de forte propagation se produisant lorsque le noyau a une section transversale rectangulaire. L~invention concerne un guide de lumière de verre contenant au moins un élément parmi les oxydes constitutifs de verre ci-dessus dans une quantité totale >= 35% en termes de pourcentage de poids et possédant un noyau dont la section transversale est en forme de trapèze, caractérisé en ce que parmi les deux côtés parallèles du trapèze, le long côté repose sur le côté substrat, et parmi les quatre côtés du trapèze, le long côté et chacun des deux segments obliques forment un angle de 60 à 80°.
