ABSTRACT The invention relates to a method for the production of glass panes which are substantially achromatic in incident and transmitted light, and which reflect a high percentage of the infrared radiation, by cathode sputtering of targets con- taining indium and tin. With a view to minimizing the use of costly materials such as gold and indium and to producing layers possessing improved stability, the following combination of layers is proposed in accordance with the invention: (a) At least one layer of indium/tin oxide contain- ing from 50 to 98% indium and having a layer thickness ranging from 50 to 500 nm, and preferably from 100 to 400 nm, and (b) at least one layer of at least one of the oxides of tin, bismuth, titanium and tantalum and having a layer thickness ranging from 400 to 1500 nm, and preferably from 600 to 900 nm.
