ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a glass pot having a plastic cover for a coffee or tea machine, the filter vessel thereof being provided with a mechanical closure adapted to be actuated by a release mechanism fitted to the plastic cover of the glass pot. In order to ensure that, for reliable actuation of the filter vessel closure, the release mechanism is always at an exact predetermined height in relation to the bottom surface of the glass pot, the release mechanism is made as a separate component which, after being adjusted to the desired height in relation to the bottom surface of the glass pot, is connected to the plastic cover. The release mechanism is attached positively, by friction or by adhesion, etc. It is also possible to attach the release mechanism to the plastic cover by screw-threading.
