Abstract of the Disclosure A glazing unit comprises, in combination, a soda-lime glass substrate having a composition such that its total energy transmittance for solar radiation is greater than that of a similarly dimensioned substrate of ordinary soda-lime glass which contains ferrous oxide. The substrate has a composition which contains iron oxide with substantially all of said iron oxide being ferric oxide, and a metal oxide coating of a composi- tion which transmits solar radiation and at least partially reflects infrared radiation having wavelengths greater than 3µ at least partially covering at least one face of said substrate.
