A printer has a transfuse member supporting a toner image. The toner image is generally simultaneously transferred and fused to a substrate to form a document. The document has a low gloss level. A gloss enhancing station selectively enhances the gloss of the document. The gloss enhancing station has fusing members defining a variable width fusing nip to enhance gloss.
