The invention is directed to polypeptides having a glucosidase activity, including an alpha-glucosidase activity, polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides, and methods for making and using these polynucleotides and polypeptides. In one aspect, the polypeptides of the invention are used as alpha-glucosidases to catalyze the hydrolysis of starch into sugars, e.g., to convert liquefied starch to glucose. In one aspect, the polypeptides of the invention can catalyze the hydrolysis of both alpha-(1,4) and alpha-(1,6) glucose linkages. In one aspect, the polypeptides of the invention can catalyze the hydrolysis of both malto-oligosaccharides and liquefied starch.
L'invention concerne des polypeptides possédant une activité de glucosidase, notamment une activité d'alpha-glucosidase, des polynucléotides codant ces polypeptides, ainsi que des procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation de ces polynucléotides et de ces polypeptides. Dans un aspect de cette invention, les polypeptides sont utilisés en tant qu'alpha-glucosidases pour catalyser l'hydrolyse d'amidon en sucres, par exemple pour convertir l'amidon liquéfié en glucose. Dans un autre aspect de cette invention, les polypeptides peuvent catalyser l'hydrolyse à la fois de liaisons alpha-(1,4) glucose et de liaisons alpha-(1,6) glucose. Dans un autre aspect encore de cette invention, les polypeptides peuvent catalyser l'hydrolyse à la fois de malto-oligosaccharides et d'amidon liquéfié.
