The device applies a coating of glue on two longitudinal edges of elongated veneer sheet stacks. The device comprises two sets of glue distributing rollers. Each set is located on a corresponding edge of the stack and comprises an engraved roller and a substantially smooth roller rotating in opposite to the engraved roller. A substantially liquid glue is poured between the rollers for applying it as the stack advances between the sets of glue distributing rollers.
