Glycidyl esters are prepared to have low chlorine, chloride, sodium and potassium contamination and a thixotropic index greater than 3.0 by a process that comprises reacting carboxylic mono- or dimer acids with glycidyl alcohols in a molar ratio of 1 to 0.9-2.0 using carbodiimide as the acylating agent and a pyridine-type catalyst. The pyridine-type catalyst is removed by strongly acidic ion exchange.
On prépare des esters de glycidyle de façon à assurer un faible niveau de contamination par chlore, chlorure, sodium et potassium et à leur conférer un indice thixotrope supérieur à 3,0, selon un procédé qui consiste à faire réagir des acides carboxyliques mono- ou dimères avec des alcools de glycidyle selon un rapport molaire de 1 pour 0,9-2,0, et faisant intervenir un cyanamide comme agent d'acylation ainsi qu'un catalyseur du type pyridine. Ce dernier est extrait par échange d'ions à acidité élevée.
