- 23 - ABSTRACT This invention is directed to a heat transfer fluid comprising water, a water soluble glycol, at least 3,000 ppm by weight, based on the weight of the glycol component of borate anion, at least 8,000 ppm by weight, based on the weight of the glycol component of phosphate anion, and at least 400 ppm by weight, based on the weight of the glycol component, of an adjuvant for inhibiting the corrosion of copper, such as benzotriazole, tolytriazole, mercaptobenzothiazole or mixtures thereof, wherein the amounts of borate anion, phosphate anion, and copper corrosion inhibiting adjuvant are sufficient to provide a combined corrosion loss of less than 28.0 mg. and preferably a weight loss of less than 18.0 mg. for cast aluminum as per ASTM method D I384-70.
