Abstract of the Disclosure Perfluoroalkylthio glycols and esters thereof can be prepared by the free-radical catalyzed addition of a perfluoroalkylthiol to an acetylenic alcohol or ester thereof. The compounds obtained are useful inter- mediates for the synthesis of fluorochemicals with low free surface energies having oil and water repellent properties.
