- 1 - HOE 90/B 030-MA858 Abstract of the disclosure: Glycoprotein sialylation by gene manipulation The invention relates to glycoprotein sialylation by gene manipulation, and to novel sialylated glycoproteins ("hypersialylated glycoproteins"). The sialylation by gene manipulation is brought about by expressing a DNA sequence coding for a sialyltransferase together with a DNA sequence coding for the glycoprotein to be sialylated in a eukaryotic cell, and isolating the sialylated glycoprotein which is formed.
