The present invention provides novel glycopeptides antibiotic derivatives. These glycopeptide antibiotic derivatives are characterized in that a sugar residue (I) represented by the formula: (See formula I) (wherein n is an integer of 1 to 5, Sugs are each independently a monosaccharide, (Sug)n is a divalent sugar residue formed by binding of same or different 1 to 5 monosaccharides ; R Al is optionally substituted lower alkyl, optionally substituted lower alkenyl, or optionally substituted cycloalkyl; and R E is OH or NHA c (A c is acetyl)) is bound to an aromatic ring of the fourth amino acid residue in the glycopeptide skeleton. These derivatives have antibacterial activity against vancomycin-resistant bacteria.

L'invention porte sur un nouveau dérivé antibiotique de glycopeptide. Le dérivé antibiotique de glycopeptide est caractérisé par le fait qu'il possède un sucre résiduel (I) représenté par la formule (I) [dans laquelle n représente un entier de 1 à 5; les Sug représentent indépendamment un monosaccharide et (Sug)n représente un sucre résiduel bivalent formé par liaison de 1 à 5 monosaccharides qui sont identiques ou différents les uns des autres; RA1 représente un alkyle inférieur qui peut être substitué, un alcényle inférieur qui peut être substitué ou un cycloalkyle qui peut être substitué; et RE représente OH ou NHAc (Ac représentant un acétyle)] lié à un noyau aromatique dans le quatrième acide aminé résiduel situé dans un squelette de glycopeptide. Le dérivé présente une activité antibactérienne à l'encontre d'une bactérie résistante à la vancomycine.
