The invention relates to a gold-based composition on a reducible oxide-based support characterised in that the halogen content thereof with respect to a molar halogen/gold ratio is equal to or less than 0.05, wherein the gold is embodied in the form of particles whose size is equal to or less than 10 nm and the composition is exposed to reduction treatment. Said composition is obtainable by a method consisting in bringing a reducible oxide-based compound into contact with a gold halide-based compound, thereby forming the suspension thereof, the thus obtained medium pH being fixed to a value of at least 8, subsequently, in separating a solid from a reaction medium and in washing said solid with a basic solution. Said method also involves a reduction treatment which is carried out prior to washing or thereafter. The inventive composition can be used in the form of a catalyst in carbon monoxide oxidation methods, for treating tobacco smoke and air.
L'invention concerne une composition à base d'or sur un support à base d'un oxyde réductible qui est caractérisée en ce que sa teneur en halogène exprimée par le rapport molaire halogène/or est d'au plus 0,05, en ce que l'or se présente sous forme de particules de taille d'au plus 10 nm et en ce qu'elle a subi un traitement de réduction. Elle est obtenue par un procédé dans lequel on met en contact un composé à base d'un oxyde réductible et un composé à base d'un halogénure d'or en formant une suspension de ces composés, le pH du milieu ainsi formé étant fixé à une valeur d'au moins 8; puis on sépare le solide du milieu réactionnel et on lave le solide avec une solution basique, le procédé comprenant en outre un traitement de réduction soit avant, soit après l'étape de lavage. Cette composition peut être utilisée comme catalyseur dans des procédés d'oxydation du monoxyde de carbone, de traitement de fumées de cigarette ou de traitement de l'air.
