Abstract An alloy composition for use in dental andtor jewelry applications consisting essentially of palladium 0.9-58.0%, indium 5.0-42.0%, silver 0-46.0%, gold 0-30.0%, copper 0-40.0%, niobium about 0-7.0%, platinum about 0-4.5%, zinc about 0-4.0%, tungsten about 0-3.0%,-tin 0-2.0%, germanium about 0-1.0%, tantalum about 0-1.0%, silicon about 0-0.75%, phosphorus about 0-0.75%, titanium about 0-0.5%, iridium about 0-0.5%, rhenium about 0-0.5%, ruthenium about 0-0.5%, boron about 0-0.1%, lithium about 0-0.025% and mixtures thereof. This alloy exhibits a pale yellow to yellow color which it derives from the interaction of two white colored metals - palladium and indium. Various alloying additions are specified to improve castability, ductility, strength, hardness, tarnish and corrosion resistance.
