ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Conventional gold preparations are used for producing highly porous coatings on metal surfaces by sintering and by adding thereto 1 to 10 percent by weight of a pore-forming agent consisting of a material that suddenly decomposes or evaporates at 700 to 1050°C and escapes from the layer without leaving a residue. Plastics and dental waxes in the form of a powder are preferably used for this purpose.
