ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A gold ore sorting plant incorporating a neutron irradiator comprising, a high voltage accelerator neutron tube adopted to produce at least 1010 neutrons/sec with an energy less than 4.5 Mev, and means for presenting lumps of gold ore to the neutrons in a geometrical configuration such as to enable the lumps of ore to be irradiated uniformly with neutrons.
