A gold selective ion exchange resin and process for the recovery of gold from solutions thereof is described. The resin has a macroporous structure and functional groups selected from alkylamine groups wherein the alkyl chain has between 3 and 6 carbon atoms, preferably tributylamine groups. The functional group content of the resin is from 0,4mmol/g to 1,8mmol/g and the water retention capacity is at least 30%. The process for recovering gold involves adsorption thereof onto such resin, optionally directly from a slurry, and elution preferably using a thiourea solution.
L'invention décrit une résine échangeuse d'ions, sélective pour l'or, permettant de récupérer de l'or à partir de solutions renferment ce métal. La résine a une structure macroporeuse et porte des groupes fonctionnels, choisis parmi des groupes alkylamine, dont la chaîne alkyle compte entre 3 et 6 atomes de carbone, préférablement des groupes tributylamine. La teneur de la résine en groupes fonctionnels se situe entre 0,4 et 1,8 mmole/g, et sa capacité de rétention d'eau est d'au moins 30 %. Le procédé de récupération d'or comprend l'adsorption de l'or sur la résine, facultativement directement à partir d'une suspension épaisse, et son élution, de préférence à l'aide d'une solution de thio-urée.
