-14- A golf bag has an elongate strap area extending longitudinally of the bag at a first side of the bag, with a carrying strap having opposite ends spaced apart along the strap area and secured to the strap area and two fastener arrangements, e.g. strips of hook-and-loop fastener material, for attachment of optional accessories to the golf bag, the fastener arrangements being separated from one another by the strap area. The fastener arrangements are spaced from one another, at a second side of the golf bag opposite from the first side, by an intermediate area extending longitudinally of the golf bag, so that the intermediate area is left free to permit attachment of a stand to the golf bag.
