ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A golf ball having dimples covering its surface, and having three great circular paths on the surface of the golf ball where none of the paths intersect a dimple is disclosed. The three great circular paths are obtained by laying out a truncated octahedron on the surface of the golf ball and dividing the six square faces into four equal isosceles triangles. The great circular paths are coextensive with the bisecting lines. Golf balls having 368 and 632 dimples and having three great circles are disclosed.
