The weight means (24) has a predetermined center point (26), and said center point (26) is positioned along said shaft (12) between 20 % length and 71.4 % length from said butt end (16) relative to an overall length of said improved gold putter (10). A putter head (22) is connected to the tip (18) of said shaft (12), and the weight ratio of the putter head (22) to said weight means (24) ranges between 0.56:1 and 3.20:1. A weight ratio of the putter head (10) to an overall weight of said improved golf putter (10) ranges between 0.30:1 and 0.55:1. Specific balance points (23) (25) for said improved golf putter (10) range between 45.71 % length and 69.29 % length from said from said butt end relative to the overall length of said golf putter (10), and result in swing weight values between D-6 and negative E-9.
