A golf tee is formed in the shape of a hollow ring having one end for contacting the ground and another end for supporting a golf ball to be hit. The end for contacting the ground is formed with a series of points. The end for supporting the golf ball typically has contacts, or feet, for contacting the golf ball. The medial portion of the golf tee between the two ends can be thickened and can present a roughly horizontal surface upon which advertising may be placed. The golf tee is made of a reusable material and may have a sufficient internal diameter to permit the tee to be retrieved with the aid of the end of a golf club. The ends of the tee can be made to at least partially self align, or self center, to facilitate stacking. The medial portion of the tee has a relatively large space upon which a display can be placed, such as advertising, a logo, in a colour that contrasts with the colour of the body of the tee, to facilitate retrieval.
