GONG STRIKING MECHANISM Abstract: The present invention relates to a gong striking mechanism. The mechanism is comprised of a driving motor including a motor shaft mounted on a frame within a gong. A conversion unit is rotatably connected to the motor shaft for converting continuous rotational motion of the motor shaft to reciprocal gong striking motion. The conversion unit is comprised of a collar which is fixed in an offset position on the motor shaft. The collar has a rim integrally located at the top edge thereof, and a hammer is provided which has a hollow cylindrical shape and engages the collar such that the hammer maintains a predetermined clearance between the outer surface of the collar and the inner surface of the hammer. A resilient unit is provided to absorb impact force during the gong striking motion. The resilient unit is disposed within the clearance.
