- 1 - Abstract: This invention relates to a governing mode changeover apparatus for a steam turbine. The apparatus comprises a circuit for switching between a throttle governing mode and a nozzle governing mode. The load is controlled by selectively subjecting one of the steam control valves to load control during governing mode switching. The apparatus has the advantage that the turbine can be switched between the throttle and nozzle governing modes with only a limited fluctuation of the load.
