Asphalt patching for pot holes and the edges of the road broken away from faulty road bases, weather conditions or just deterioration of the roads due to age usually require men shoveling and then raking the material needed from a Hopper attached to the back of a truck or a self contained machine known as a One-man Patcher to repair the roads. Gravel on the shoulders of paved roads often need to be replaced due to erosion and weather conditions such as wash-outs. This requires a Grader and one or two gravel trucks or men shoveling and then raking the material needed from a Hopper attached to the back of a truck. Many roads are still gravel roads and require constant maintenance. In many instances, men with shovels and rakes are required to repair bad holes with gravel to make the road passable until a Grader is available. In this invention, a unit is attached to the side of a truck with sanding capabilities. The materials required to repair the road are delivered to the unit by way of hydraulic driven chain and chute. The unit then spreads the material to the predetermined set depth and then the dual back wheels of the truck pack the material.

Le remplacement du gravier requiert une niveleuse et un ou deux camions à gravier ou encore des travailleurs qui pellettent le matériau provenant d'une trémie tirée par un camion et le nivellent au moyen d'un râteau. De nombreuses routes sont encore en gravier et nécessitent un entretien constant. Dans bien des cas, il faut remplir les trous importants de gravier à la pelle et au râteau afin de rendre la route carrossable en attendant d'avoir une niveleuse à sa disposition. L'unité constituée par la présente invention se fixe sur le côté d'un camion équipé pour étendre du sable. Le matériau requis pour réparer la route est acheminé vers l'unité au moyen d'un dispositif de convoyage hydraulique à chaîne et d'une goulotte. L'unité étend ensuite le matériau sur une épaisseur préétablie, tandis que les roues jumelées arrière du camion le compacte.
