The present invention provides a polynucleotide which identifies and encodes a novel human granulocyte chemotactic protein 2 variant (NGCP). The invention provides for genetically engineered expression vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acid sequence encoding NGCP. The invention also provides for the production and use of substantially purified NGCP in pharmaceutical compositions to stop cell division in cancerous cells. The invention also describes diagnostic assays which utilize the polynucleotide to hybridize with the transcripts encoding NGCP and anti-NGCP antibodies which specifically bind to NGCP.
L'invention porte sur un polynucléotide qui identifie et code une nouvelle variante de la protéine-2 chimiotactique de granulocytes chez l'homme (NGCP). L'invention concerne des vecteurs d'expression et des cellules hôtes, obtenus par génie génétique, qui comprennent la séquence nucléotidique codant pour NGCP. L'invention se rapporte également à la production et à l'utilisation de NGCP sensiblement purifiée dans des compositions pharmaceutiques destinées à stopper la division cellulaire dans les cellules cancéreuses. L'invention concerne des méthodes diagnostiques dans lesquelles on utilise le polynucléotide à des fins d'hybridation avec les transcrits codant pour NGCP et pour les anticorps anti-NGCP se liant spécifiquement à NGCP.
