A method and apparatus for displaying information regarding an event are provided. The method and apparatus meets objectives of increasing sales and marketing efficiency and efficiency of technical and customer support by providing a multi-dimensional display of event information to a user. As such, a radar screen-like presentation of data is generated that allows the user to see a visual representation of the best prospective opportunities based on the strategic business importance of an event. The method and apparatus functions by determining at least one event to be displayed and generating for graphical display an event object and label corresponding to the event. The radial location of the event object on the display is related to the stage of the particular corresponding event. The location of the event object on the display can also be indicative of other characteristics of the corresponding event. Each event object has variable size, color, and shape, all of which are indicative of characteristics of the corresponding event. In addition, a displayed event object may have an object tail which is indicative of characteristics of the corresponding event. The radar screen-like display may be comprised of sectors, and the location of an event object in a particular sector is indicative of a characteristic of the corresponding event. Each event object provides an electronic link to detailed information about the corresponding event.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour afficher des informations relatives à un évènement. Ce procédé et cet appareil permettent de répondre aux objectifs d'accroissement des ventes et d'efficacité du marketing et de l'assistance technique et à la clientèle en fournissant à un utilisateur un affichage multidimensionnel des informations concernant un évènement. A ce titre, une présentation des données comme sur un écran radar est générée et permet à l'utilisateur de voir une représentation visuelle des meilleures opportunités potentielles sur la base de l'importance commerciale stratégique d'un évènement. Ce procédé et cet appareil fonctionnent en déterminant au moins un évènement à afficher et en générant, pour affichage graphique, un objet évènement et un libellé correspondant à cet évènement. La position radiale de l'objet évènement sur l'affichage est liée à la phase de l'évènement correspondant particulier. La position de l'objet évènement sur l'affichage peut également révéler d'autres caractéristiques de l'évènement correspondant. Chaque objet évènement présente des dimensions, des couleurs et des formes variables qui sont toutes révélatrices des caractéristiques de l'évènement correspondant. En outre, un objet évènement affiché peut posséder une queue révélatrice des caractéristiques de l'évènement correspondant. L'affichage sur un écran radar peut être constitué de secteurs, et la position d'un objet évènement dans un secteur particulier indique une caractéristique de l'évènement correspondant. Chaque objet évènement constitue une liaison électronique avec des informations détaillées concernant l'évènement correspondant.
