This invention is an indicia transfer and method for its use to impart indicia to polylefin objects during rotational molding. The transfer is a laminating of at least three coats on a carrier sheet, which is preferably a flexible, transparent polymer sheet. The coats, as successive layers on the carrier sheet are: a backing coat of a first pressure sensitive adhesive, an indicia coat of a colorant in a graphic or alphanumerical array, and a top coat of a second pressure sensitive adhesive. The pressure sensitive adhesive used for the backing coat has a transition temperature greater than the surface temperature of the mold to which the transfer is to be applied while the pressure sensitive adhesive used for the top coat has a transition temperature less than the mold surface temperature to enable transfer of the coats to the interior surface of a rotational mold.
L'invention concerne un transfert d'empreinte et un procédé pour son utilisation, destiné à transférer une empreinte sur des objets polyoléfines durant un moulage rotatif. Le transfert est un stratifié constitué d'au moins trois revêtements sur une plaque de support, qui est de préférence une plaque polymère transparente souple. Les revêtements, disposés en couches successives sur la plaque de support sont: un revêtement de base d'un premier adhésif sensible à la pression, un revêtement d'empreinte d'un colorant de réseau graphique ou alphanumérique, et un revêtement supérieur d'un second adhésif sensible à la pression. L'adhésif sensible à la pression utilisé pour le revêtement de base présente une température de transition supérieure à la température de surface du moule sur lequel le transfert est appliqué, tandis que l'adhésif sensible à la pression, utilisé pour le revêtement supérieur, présente une température de transition inférieure à la température de surface du moule pour permettre le transfert des revêtements sur la surface intérieure d'un moule en rotation.
