GREASE TRAP SYSTEM ABSTRACT: A grease trap system utilizes trap aeration by bubbling air upwardly through the trap contents. This has the effect of separating the grease from food and other particles, and holds the grease in a stable, aerated condition that effectively precludes deterioration under the influence of anaerobic bacteria, thus avoiding the generation of hydrogen sulphide. Operation of the system utilizes mechanical recovery of the stabilized grease, which is a saleable commodity, with flush down of finer detritus particles and recovery of food and other particulate matter from the bottom of the trap, using a particle sieve. The system is ecologically sound and is readily serviced by unskilled labor, on a routine basis.
